Bangladesh’s T20I Squad Includes Two Uncapped Players Against Ireland

The first of three Twenty20 Internationals that Bangladesh will play against Ireland will take place on March 27, and the side that will play has been selected.

Rishad Hossain and Jaker Ali Anik are two new faces in the Bangladesh team for the T20I series against Ireland. The team led by Shakib Al Hasan doesn’t have room for T20I regulars Afif Hossain and Nurul Hasan.

Jaker Ali Anik has played in 49 domestic T20 games and has scored 587 runs, averaging 20.96 runs per game. The wicketkeeper and batter, who is 25 years old, helped the Comilla Victorians win the Bangladesh Premier League 2023. He scored 175 runs and averaged 25 runs per game.

On the other hand, Rishad Hossain hasn’t played in a domestic T20 since 2021, but he has been a regular net bowler for the Bangladesh national team. Rishad is a leg spinner by nature, but he adds wrist spin to a Bangladesh team that is full of finger spinners.

Bangladesh is confident going into the Ireland series because they beat the Men’s T20 World Champions, England, 3-0 at home.

Shakib Al Hasan is the captain of the squad, which also includes Litton Das, Rony Talukdar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nasum Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Rishad Hosain, and Jaker Ali Anik were the five individuals that contributed to this work. Here is what the chief selector, Minhajul Abedin, had to say about the two new players on the team: “Jaker was selected for the national team as a result of his impressive play in his home country. Also, he has been doing well with the A team.

“Because we have a match against Ireland, we are hoping to get more playing time out of Rishad. The people in charge also wanted a crowd-pleaser. This is why we chose him. I hope the new people will make the most of it,” he said.
