New Zealand will receive “world class” security from Islamabad police

Following rumours, Islamabad police “refused” to provide security for a forthcoming television series.

On Sunday, the Islamabad police pledged to give the New Zealand squad “foolproof and world-class” security for its upcoming trip to Pakistan for the limited-overs series.

The New Zealand Cricket Team will receive end-to-end foolproof and world-class protection during their upcoming visit, according to a statement from the Islamabad Capital Police posted on Twitter.

After rumours that the Islamabad police “refused” to provide security for the next home series, they made their statement.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) provides resources for security, according to sources in the police department who informed Geo News that “the police does not have resources for providing protection.”

According to the sources, police officers are busy carrying out their duties at locations that distribute free flour, during ongoing censuses, and at other Ramadan-related events.

Nonetheless, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) eighth season and the visit of the England cricket team in 2022–2023 were both “flawlessly” secured by the Islamabad police, according to Inspector General of Police Dr Akbar Nasir Khan.

In cooperation with other stakeholders in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, “ICTP shall be playing a major role for provision of immaculate security,” he continued.

Beginning on April 14 in Lahore, the one-day international (ODI) and T20 international (T20I) series will also feature three games, one ODI and two T20Is, in Rawalpindi. The visiting teams go to the Pindi Cricket Stadium for games while staying at a hotel in the nation’s capital.

After the conclusion of their T20I series against Sri Lanka on April 9, the visiting team will go for Pakistan.
